Listed below are explanations for some of the techniques that I use in one to one treatments:

One - one Natural Posture Lesson

In a one-one Natural Posture lesson, the teacher creates a learning experience tailored to the needs of the student.  Through gentle movement and touch, the student is guided to become aware of their existing patterns and to explore new possibilities.
Some of the reasons people have one to one lessons are
  • You have complex health concerns
  • A busy lifestyle preventing you from attending scheduled classes
  • You may be concerned about your fitness levels or physical abilities
  • You are a beginner
  • You are recovering from injury
  • You want to take your practice to deeper level
  • You would like a  personalised program to follow

Fascial Unwinding

Fascia is the soft tissue component of connective tissue that provides support and protection for most structures within the human body.  Soft tissue can become restricted due to overuse, trauma, inactivity, or emotional patterns and belief systems.  Often these restrictions create diminished blood flow and are felt in the form of pain and muscle tension. The aim of fascial mobilisation is to produce a well balanced and mobile body within the skeletal, soft tissue, visceral and cranial sacral systems.

Sports Massage
Sports massage is a deeper form of massage and can help towards a rehabilitation program.
Sports Massage encourages recovery from injury by increasing flexibility.  This in-turn reduces muscle tightness and restricted movement in the joints.  This massage uses acupressure, stretching and deep massage.

Aromatherapy
Aromatherapy is a natural holistic therapy, which uses essential oils to help promote deep relaxation, greater well being and renewed energy.  Essential oils are concentrated plant essences and have a wide range of healing properties.
The combination of massage and a blend of essential oils can enhance the circulation of the blood and lymph and relax tense and tired muscles. Furthermore, it can help eliminate toxins from the body and also help with anxiety, depression, digestive problems, headaches and insomnia.

Facial Treatment
Holistic facials are a gentle facial treatment using Neals Yard Products which cleanse, exfoliate, tone and nourish the skin. Just like the rest of our body, the face has a large number of muscles that can get tight and hold onto stress.  As part of this holistic facial treatment the main emphasis is on leaving your muscles feeling relaxed and rejuvenated, and your skin looking and feeling great.
How do holistic facials work?
A cleanser and face mask can help to remove impurities from the skin, whilst a gentle exfoliator and face massage promote desquamation (removal) of dead skin cells. Massage of the face, head, neck, shoulders and hands can help to release stress and tension of muscles in these areas.
What are the benefits of holistic facials?
Many people comment that they experience a sense of deep relaxation and well-being during and following treatments. Other benefits may include:
  • Improvement of facial skin condition
         relief from:
  • Muscular (e.g. neck) tension and pain caused by occupational stress (long periods
marking, completing paperwork, sitting at a computer)
  • Tension headaches and facial pain
  • Eye strain
  • Sinus problems
